Prescott Park, Portsmouth, NH

Performed two weddings at the Park Saturday afternoon. The first was in the formal garden where I performed a Classic Spiritual wedding ceremony. The ceremony featured a reading by the bride’s daughter. Here it is entitled “The One”:

When the one whose hand you’re holding
Is the one who holds your heart,
When the one whose eyes you gaze into
Gives your hopes and dreams their start,
When the one you think of first and last
Is the one who holds you tight
And the things you plan together
Make the whole world seem just right,
When the one whom you believe in
Puts their faith and trust in you,
You’ve found the one and only love
You’ll share your whole life through.

Great reading for a wedding! The color was yellow/gold, and the weather was perfect. Congratulations Don & Julie!

Anchorage By The Sea, Ogunquit, Maine

Performed a Classic Spiritual Ceremony at the Anchorage By The Sea Resort this past Saturday for a great couple in front of small group of family and friends. The weather was great and the color was pink. The bride and groom’s moms were the official witnesses. Best of luck Chris & Tammy!

Wentworth by the Sea Hotel, New Castle, NH

Attended the rehearsal and married a great couple in a custom ceremony they created at the Hotel this past Saturday & Sunday. The weather wasn’t fantastic, but it wasn’t raining, so we were able to be outside for the ceremony which featured a Lasso Ceremony and a few words by Albert Einstein which were read by the Bride’s brother. Here is the Lasso Ceremony:

[Bride’s Uncle & Aunt come up to the front of ceremony holding the Lasso]

This cord symbolizes an infinite bond of love you share that keeps your relationship strong in the face of adversity, as well as that you both are no longer two, but one in marriage.

May this cord remind you to face your life together courageously and to be mutual in support of each other in carrying out your duties and responsibilities as a couple. And, may your love grow stronger and bind you closer together through the years.

[Bride’s Uncle & Aunt place the cord over Bride & Groom’s heads.]

Bride & Groom, as you are bound together now, so too your lives and spirits are joined in a union of everlasting love and trust. Above you are the stars and below you is the earth. Like the stars, your love should be a constant source of light, and like the earth, a firm foundation from which to grow.

[I then removed the Lasso, and presented it to Groom who gave it to the best man.]

And in case you were wondering about Einstein, here are his words that were read in both English and Spanish:

“Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love. How on earth can you explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love? Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with that special girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. That’s relativity.”

The colors were marsala (dark crimson), navy, and blush. Best Wishes, Sean & Ana!

Candia Woods Golf Links

Performed a Custom Wedding Ceremony on Saturday and addended the Rehearsal on Friday for a nice couple at the Golf Links. The rain cleared out just in time to have the ceremony in the outside area, but the weather was still tentative, so the guests sat under the building overhang while the wedding was performed out in the open. The ceremony featured this version of The Irish Blessing…

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.
May you see your children’s children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

The ring bearer was the couple’s Black Lab, Remy – and he did an admirable job, along with providing some inter-ceremony roll-on-the-grass antics. The colors were grey and navy blue. Best Wishes Tyler & Krista!
